ZIALE offers a suite of short courses designed to build practical legal skills, strengthen professional competence and support career development in legislative drafting, prosecutions, investigations, procurement, compliance and governance.

Available Courses

1. Post-Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting

Aim: To equip course participants with practical skills and knowledge required for drafting legislation and rendering quality legal advice. The course emphasis is on individual practical skill development through lectures, practical drafting exercises and assignments.

  • Target Group: Legal practitioners within the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary; law drafters; lawyers interested in legislative drafting and interpretation.

2. Certificate in Advanced Prosecutions Course

Aim: To equip trainees with the knowledge and practical skills required for criminal prosecution. The course covers Criminal Procedure, Evidence Practice and Procedure, Prosecutions Process and Trial Advocacy Skills.

3. Certificate in Criminal Investigations and the Law

Aim: To equip participants with the law relating to treatment of suspects, interviewing witnesses and suspects, types of evidence, evidence weighting and charge selection.

4. Legal Practitioners Qualifying Examination (LPQE) Course

Aim: To prepare students for admission to the Zambian Bar upon successful completion of their studies.

  • Notes: Applications are received in line with Rules 4 and 5 of the ZIALE (Students) Rules, 2021.

5. Government Contracts and Procurement Law

Aim: To provide a sound foundation in the theory, principles and practice of government contracts and procurement law for professionals involved in contract management and procurement.
